Our chaplaincy is based on our work with Bridge Ministries, International in the 1990s, our seminal work with House of Solomon in the '70s and '80s, and the belief that the Creator has prepared some people to help others by taking them through the fire of life. Thus, your needs are of the utmost importance. We don't have money to give you. We don't have food to give away. We don't provide transportation. What we do is use our experience to connect hurting people to resources. We try and not duplicate services of those who do have money to give; food to give; jobs to give; transportation to provide; or help with the many challenges you may experience in life.
We have spent over 50 years working in America's inner cities/urban areas, and have been involved in global missions work for several years. Our current major work is helping to build/upgrade orphanages in Africa, beginning in Uganda. We are seeking monthly $38 sponsors for each of the 55 orphans in a small, poor village in Uganda, as well as projects in Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Zambia, other parts of Africa, and projects in the Middle East, China, and the Philippines. The facility we are helping to build in Uganda with our partners has been completed! Now the children have a safe place to live. An educational center is being built; later we want to help with a health center and improved sanitary conditions. Consider a financial gift to complete this multi-purpose facility in the next few years. We only need $35,000; your gift is tax-deductible! Contact us for further information and/or to take a group on a short-term missions trip to Uganda, or to one of our other project sites!
Our entire work is committed to meeting your prayer and spiritual needs. We also serve as one of the chaplains of the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum in Houston, Texas. We have been involved as community ministers, missionaries to inner cities/urban areas, and as community activists. As a result, a high percentage of our service is to people who may not believe in God, have turned away from God, don't like church or church people, and referrals from people just needing someone to listen to them and help them find the help they need.
Our training began in the Church of the Living God where the grandfather of the chaplain was a pioneer pastor and church planter. This man spent many years traveling the country helping people, counseling, and just being a good friend. Since the mother of the chaplain was a pianist, he traveled with her to various churches where she was paid to play. Later, when she became a dedicated Christian, he watched the change in her life, and began his Christian journey.
The journey of The Chaplain took him through Bible teaching and church training of the Christ Holy Sanctified Church, with foundational teaching from a well-trained minister "borrowed" from the Methodist Church, a group that had been influential in the development of the founders of Christ Holy Sanctified Church. These founders (one a Baptist deacon; the other a Methodist teacher), spent much of their ministry working with blue-collar laborers, domestics, field workers, street people, and with people that could not fit in most churches. Along the way, others from other occupations and stations in life became involved with this organization formed in 1910.
The journey of The Chaplain continued as he served, worked, or volunteered with the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Assemblies of God Church, Union Gospel Mission, Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America, New Light Christian Center Church, Our Family at Bethel Church, Grace Church of the Woodlands, New Victory Temple, Teen Challenge, Billy Graham Crusades, Franklin Graham Festivals, Campus Crusade for Christ, Young Life, Youth Crusaders, Promise Keepers, World Impact, Mike Evan's Ministries, and as he fellowshipped with Church of God In Christ, Presbyterian Church, United Methodist Church, Baptist Churches, Catholic Church, and Independent Churches. He has studied with Mormons, Church of Christ, Seventh-Day Adventists, and others. He has also worked with Muslims, The Bahai' Faith, and with those from the Jewish community. Whether a person is Jewish, Christian, Muslim, agnostic, atheist, involved with one of the many Eastern religions, or has no religion at all, The Chaplain is available for spiritual guidance and assistance.
